Congratulations, you've become a webdecal.com affiliate. You have selected a banner and displayed it prominently on your site. People will see it, click through, buy webdecals and you'll make money. Selling webdecals is fun and easy to do. To help you get started we have complied this is page of successful marketing suggestions. Hopefully you have taken our suggestion and purchased you own webdecal, which promotes your very own URL. This brings you business. Let me ask you a question: How often do you read a decal or bumper sticker on the car in front of you? Just curious, right? Do you inch up closer at a stoplight to get a better look - even if you're not that interested? It's just human nature to be curious. Webdecals are easy to read and do not require you to strain your eyes or get any closer. They are easy to see and read because of their large white lettering and prominent placement at eye level to drivers behind you. Although decals are not new, webdecals are and people notice new things. People will note your web address and check out your product or service. While at your site, they will see our banner and when they click on it to purchase their own webdecal, you get the commission. Let's face it, right now there are millions of websites on the Internet and most of them are using traditional online marketing techniques such as:
All these methods are tried and true and I encourage you to use them as a Webdecal.com affiliate. There is a great deal of advice for online advertising and marketing already on the web. Many of these sites are produced and maintained by marketing experts who specialize in certain areas such as Danny Sullivan of Search Engine Watch or Allan Gardyne of AssociatePrograms.com. They know their areas of expertise. So I am supplying links to several very useful sites that deal with specific areas of Internet marketing. Later in this message, I will concentrate on giving you specifics on my area of expertise: selling webdecals! Marketing Links: Ted Holmes owns this site and gives away an entire book on Internet Marketing FREE, plus a lot of other good stuff. More good sites that are full of links and advice are:
Search Engines: Danny Sullivan who runs Search Engine Watch has one of the most informative sites on search engines. Access it at: Banner Exchanges: Presently, there is some controversy over whether or not advertising with banners is effective. Decide for yourself if you think they are worth using. One question to ask yourself is whether you ever click on a banner yourself. If you click (as we do) then use them. Here are some links:
Newsletters: All the marketers say the same thing…..Write your own newsletter and start a mailing list. If you have expertise in a subject that applies to your website then you should be writing a newsletter and sharing what you know with others. This is not an easy task for most of us, but newsletters are among the few pieces of email that I pay attention to (except email from my affiliates, of course!). They are effective in grabbing one's attention. Even if its only for a few minutes, its long enough to get your message across. Bear in mind, however, that your newsletter has to be interesting and informative or no one will read more than a few issues. Once again Ted Holmes from http://www.cebn.com/ comes to the rescue by giving away free, a newsletter template. You can get it at template1@e-zinez.com . After you write the copy for the newsletter, fill in the appropriate areas of this template for a professional looking newsletter . Targeted Email: There are several places to go to buy 'Opt-in' email addresses. We are not suggesting you spend money on these lists. Again, this is your decision. We have not bought a list and do not have an opinion on them. If anyone out there has experience with this form of advertising, please email us so we can learn from you and we will share what we receive with other affiliates. The key to a successful email campaign is to TARGET it to the people interested in your product. If you decide to spend money on a list of addresses make sure it is current and fits the consumers you are trying to reach. Email signatures: Everyone should be using a signature in all his or her email. A signature is a short (6 line maximum) advertisement that is automatically included at the end of all your emails. To make your own signature in Outlook Express, Go to Tools Go to Stationery Click: Signature and add your message Click: Add this signature to all outgoing messages. Click: Text. Click: OK. Open a new email and view your new signature. We suggest your signature says something about your product or service, is motivational or contains a favorite quote. Classified Ads: Again, there are thousands of sites that list classified ads. We have used Yahoo and have had some responses from it. We have also used Concepts 2000 at www.concepts2000.com/ but it will fill your inbox with a lot of messages from other businesses. We paid $20.00 for a classified ad on MSN for 60 days and got three responses from that ad, not a good return on our money. A webdecal reaches many more people. There are millions of websites on the Internet and the competition online is fierce. It is very difficult for a small site to stand out in such an immense crowd. Because of this, many sites are starting to advertise offline as well as online. If you watch television, I'm sure you've seen many commercials advertising a company website. Most of them are well done and very effective but advertising on TV is very expensive and out of reach for most online businesses. Newspapers and radio are other ways to advertise offline. This is effective in reaching a wide audience but you have to pay over and over again, either to renew an ad in print or for another block of airtime. Much business advertising is done in the yellow pages. It costs several hundred dollars a year to advertise in the phone book. Web addresses are appearing everywhere. On letterheads, business cards, match books, fax cover sheets, brochures, invoices and other company related printed material. Businesses spend large amounts of money on these costs to get their vital information out to the public. Webdecals are another form of this type of advertising, however, a webdecal costs less than $15.00 and this is a one-time cost, not a weekly, monthly or annual cost. Pay once and promote continuously. A webdecal enhances the other methods already being used. Why augment a marketing campaign with a webdecal? Because they are prominently displayed and many people see them. (You know how often you drive your car.) You put them in place and then you don't have to do anything else except periodic washing of the webdecal and the surface it is on. Businesses advertise on their vehicles all the time. You see graphics on vehicles every time you are on the road. Now, for less than $15.00 you can do the same thing. Webdecals are excellent conversation starters. People are curious about new things. Let's say you're getting our of your vehicle and someone asks you about your webdecal, and, thereby, your product or service. Now you can take your affiliate status one step further. Ask them if they have (or know of someone who has) a website. Tell them about the benefits of advertising with at webdecal. Let your enthusiasm show, tell them to visit your site and order a webdecal for themselves. The benefits of advertising with a webdecal are that they are:
You are familiar with the businesses in your area. This is where owning a webdecal makes a big difference in enhancing your marketing capabilities. Go see the businesses that have websites and need to attract local customers (for a list of types of businesses that cater to local customers, click here http://www.webdecal.com/r2.html/) Show them your webdecal, take it off your car and demonstrate how simple it is to use. Point out all the benefits listed above. Write your web address down for them (this is what they will be seeing on your webdecal) or give them your business card and tell them to visit your site to make a purchase. Target businesses that have fleets of vehicles so you can sell a webdecal for each vehicle. Visit an auto dealership and suggest they put them on their loaner cars. Webmasters, designers and ISP's can give them to their customers. Multiple purchases will increase your commissions. You make 10% on the total order. These are some of our marketing suggestions. Feel free to share with us any ideas or experiences you have. We will pass them on with your name and website address for all our affiliates to see. Thank you for becoming a webdecal.com affiliate. May this additional income stream flow abundantly. |
